ebook readers (an update)

I have owned my Kobo ebook reader for about a month now. I never thought I would say this (see previous post on ebook readers) but I believe there are some advantages to electronic books over paper books. I said some.

I can carry more than one volume at a time and with my “more than one book on the go” reading style this is handy. An ebook bookmarks easily; I never lose my place. The ereader is always the same size, fitting easily into my briefcase or pack. I can get thousands of free ebooks online and preview books that I may or may not be interested in buying. If I’m going camping I can bring all my books, including my Bible, with me. What about battery charging, you ask? I have a lightweight portable solar charger that will do the job.

I still read paper books and a paper Bible but I will continue to use my ereader on the train, when travelling and at my local Starbucks. For the price of a couple of hardcover books you really can’t go wrong.
